Volunteer Spirit

The City of Plano welcomes applications for positions on boards and commissions that work closely with the city council and city staff. The Plano ISD’s AppleCorps program provides opportunities to work both in and outside the classroom. Churches and other religious organizations conduct mission work locally, nationally and abroad.

The Volunteer Center of North Texas represents more than 1800 nonprofit organizations serving 26 different causes from AIDS to the zoo. Call the Collin County office at 214.509.3886 or e-mail them at vccollin@volunteernorthtexas.org to find your place in our dynamic volunteer community.

The Plano Chamber of Commerce can provide a list for cultural arts organizations, garden clubs, political clubs, historical and preservation groups, public service and charitable organizations, senior citizens organizations, women’s clubs, singles clubs, sports clubs, youth support organizations, and much more.

Plano residents are committed to making their community the best it can be. This “can-do” spirit was a major factor in Plano’s prestigious “All-America City” designation, recognizing the city for identifying and collaboratively solving community challenges.
