Nancy Weakley

Nancy’s enthusiasm and hard work do not go unnoticed! In 2003, she worked with our publisher on the Discover Plano Web site, and today she is the leading force behind our sales team.

Nancy's goal is to reinforce that Plano Profile is Plano’s premier local magazine. She hopes to expand our presence and assist our clients as they reach their potential clients through the magazine, through planoprofile.com, and through community events.

“I love meeting new people and helping them achieve their business objectives," said Nancy. "I love learning about different kinds of businesses and what makes people successful ... how they got into the business or profession they are in, and how they keep it exciting and thriving.”

Publisher Jean Newman welcomed Nancy on board in 2007. “She is interesting, intelligent, experienced in publishing, and an affective sales leader with an entrepreneurial flair," said Jean. "In particular, I appreciate her enthusiasm for both print and emergy technology solutions to increase market share for our company and for our clients.”

Nancy writes and speaks Spanish fluently. She received her bachelor of journalism and bachelor of arts from the University of Texas in Austin. After college, she joined a firm in Cancun, Mexico, where she launched three publications and managed a portfolio of 200 accounts, including Ministers of Tourism, major hotel groups, and associations throughout Central America.

Eight years later, as director of sales for the Miami Herald International Edition, Nancy guided the Herald’s Cancun edition from start-up to profibility.

In addition, Nancy was the sales manager and publisher of Dallas Family Magazine for Trader Publishing where she was responsible for rehabilitating sales, and developing sales talent, as well as overseeing budgets, circulation, marketing, promotion, and internal administration.

Nancy and her son, Andy, moved to Plano in 2003, and she said they both love it.
