Ballroom Dancing to a live band is offered every Tuesday night from 7–9:15 p.m. at the Plano Senior Center, 401 West 16th St. Cost is $5 per person for seniors 50 years and older. Call 972.941.7155.

Chamberlain Performing Arts is a Plano-based nonprofit arts organization celebrating 25 years. The organization is a student performing pre-professional ballet company with innovative outreach programs for under served and special needs members of the community. Dance Council of North Texas is holding its annual Adaptive Dance Workshop on Friday, August 6 at Sandunga Dance Studio. Presented in collaboration with Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, this day-long workshop is designed for dance educators, studio owners, creative art therapists, and anyone interested in learning how to teach inclusion-based arts in which children and adults of all abilities can participate. Dances for Adults with Disabilities, organized by the City of Allen, features live music, snacks, and a commemorative photo mailed to each participant. Modern Square Dance Lessons, sponsored by the Swinging Stars Square Dance Club of Plano, begin Tuesday, September 14 at 7 p.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church Recreation Center, located at Coit and Parker roads. Enjoy fun, fitness and fellowship while dancing to all types of music. For 15 lessons, the cost is $60 per person. A partner is required. Plano Metropolitan Ballet is nonprofit ballet company founded in 1987 and is made up of more than 45 dedicated dancers from ages 10 to 18, while the Junior Company is comprised of nearly 40 dancers ages 8 to 12. All dancers must successfully complete an audition to become a member. Each year Plano Met performs an original fairy-tale ballet and hosts the Plano Dance Festival.
