Plano Civic Chorus presents "Rejoice!"

The joyful anthems of Christmas will be the focus of the Plano Civic Chorus’ "Rejoice!" concert on Saturday, December 13.

Several interpretations of the beloved nativity story will be presented through the music, which includes Daniel Pinkham’s "Christmas Canata," a modern-day Baroque composition featuring the Imperial Brass and organist Bradley Reznicek, excerpts from "Gloria" and "Magnificat" by John Rutter, and the jubilant finale from "Glory to God" by Alan Hovhaness. Mack Wilberg’s "The Virgin Mary had a Baby Boy," a calypso-style arrangement of a traditional West Indian carol, will round out the program. The concert will also include an audience favorite, a carol sing-along.

"Rejoice!" is the second in the chorus’ four-concert season. Each concert follows the overall theme of “The Power of Music.”

Join the Plano Civic Chorus on Saturday, December 13 at 8 p.m. at St. Andrew United Methodist Church. The church is located at 5801 W. Plano Pkwy. Tickets are $20 in advance; $25 at the door.
