Once again this year, the Seventh Annual Plano AsiaFest was a photographer’s dream. Dancers and musicians in colorful costumes from their native countries filled Haggard Park on Saturday, May 1 for the daylong extravaganza. The event was sponsored by the Celebrating Asian American Heritage Foundation.

A traditional lion dance opened the festival at 11 a.m., followed by 32 other performances including folk dances, traditional music, and martial-arts demonstrations. Sixty-five booths showcased Asian art, fashions, food and more.

Organizers say that 10,000 people attended Asiafest, and with the help of sponsors, volunteers, and performers, it was a picture-perfect occasion.
